Media and sensor inputs. Everything here produces encoded bytes; nothing decodes. The daemon depacketizes (RTP → NAL units) — that is framing, not transcoding.

rtp

Bare RTP over UDP — what sim/video-source.sh and most GStreamer/FFmpeg pipelines emit. In-house depacketizer for H.264 (RFC 6184: single NAL, STAP-A, FU-A) and H.265 (RFC 7798: single NAL, AP, FU); access units delimited by the RTP marker bit or a timestamp change. Emits Annex B. No decoding.

RTSP input via retina, pulled over TCP.

udp

UDP datagram source for sensor channels: one datagram = one message.

Strip userinfo from a URL for logging. libavformat taught us that the password leaks on the error path if this is not applied everywhere.

spawn_video

Start the video input matching the URL scheme; frames flow to tx. Reconnects forever with backoff — a robot whose camera reboots keeps its agent alive.
